Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Orebit services, including the website orebit.id and the GeoDataViz application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Description of Services

Orebit provides:

  1. GeoDataViz: A web-based application for exploratory data analysis of geological drilling data
  2. Educational Content: Blog posts, tutorials, and resources on geological data analysis
  3. Future Products: Resource Estimation and Pit Optimizer tools (in development)

Use License

Permitted Use

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Access and use GeoDataViz for geological data analysis
  • Access and read our educational content
  • Download open-source code for personal or commercial use under MIT License

Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

  • Use our services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our services
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our proprietary software
  • Remove or modify any copyright notices or proprietary markings
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

GeoDataViz Specific Terms

Data Handling

  • Your Data Remains Yours: You retain all rights to data you upload to GeoDataViz
  • No Storage Warranty: We do NOT store your data on our servers after your session ends
  • Processing Only: Your data is processed in temporary memory during active sessions only
  • Session Termination: All data is permanently deleted when you close your browser or session expires

Availability and Performance

  • “As Is” Service: GeoDataViz is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind
  • No Uptime Guarantee: We do not guarantee 100% uptime or availability
  • Service Modifications: We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
  • No Liability: We are not liable for data loss, processing errors, or service interruptions

Beta Programs

For upcoming products (Resource Estimation, Pit Optimizer):

  • Beta access is provided on an invitation-only basis
  • Beta versions may contain bugs or errors
  • Features may change or be removed before official release
  • Feedback from beta testers helps improve final products

Open Source Software

GeoDataViz Open Source Code

  • Licensed under MIT License
  • Source code available on GitHub
  • Citable via Zenodo

MIT License Summary

You are free to:

  • Use the code commercially
  • Modify the code
  • Distribute the code
  • Use the code privately

Under these conditions:

  • Include original copyright notice and license
  • Provide “as is” without warranty

Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on orebit.id, including:

  • Blog posts and articles
  • Code examples and tutorials
  • Graphics, logos, and designs
  • Application interfaces

Are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

User-Generated Content

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or other content:

  • You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate your feedback
  • You warrant that you have the right to provide such content
  • You agree we are not obligated to use or compensate you for your feedback

Disclaimer of Warranties

IMPORTANT: GeoDataViz and all Orebit services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness for Purpose: No guarantee the services meet your specific requirements
  • Accuracy: No guarantee of error-free operation or accurate results
  • Reliability: No guarantee of continuous, uninterrupted access
  • Data Integrity: No guarantee against data loss or corruption during processing

Professional Responsibility: You are solely responsible for:

  • Validating all analysis results from GeoDataViz
  • Making independent decisions based on your professional judgment
  • Complying with applicable regulations (JORC, NI 43-101, etc.)
  • Backing up your original data before processing

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Orebit and its developers shall NOT be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • This includes damages for lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or loss of goodwill
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for our services (which is currently $0 for GeoDataViz)

Critical Decisions: Do NOT rely solely on GeoDataViz for critical business or investment decisions. Always:

  • Verify results with independent tools
  • Consult with qualified professionals
  • Perform due diligence appropriate to your use case

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Orebit, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your provision of false or misleading information

Termination

We reserve the right to:
